Qatar participates in meeting of Council of Foreign Ministers of OIC Member States

Qatar, under the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, participated in the 11th meeting of Assistant Ministers for Islamic Affairs and Endowments across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) nations, hosted in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The delegation was led by Dr. Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Ghanem Al-Thani, Undersecretary at the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs.

The discussions focused on advancing Islamic and endowment efforts, enhancing cooperation among GCC countries. They explored sharing scientific research, pioneering experiences, and best practices in endowments, while promoting dialogue on best practices in Islamic affairs and identifying mechanisms to boost expertise exchange and learn from successful GCC experiences.

Initiatives included proposing a national index to gauge endowment impact, organizing a GCC competition to raise awareness about endowments, charities, and volunteering, and evaluating successful experiences in Islamic affairs and endowments. The group also debated ideas to improve cultural exchange between the East and West, establish a GCC scientific observatory, and combat extremist ideologies.

Moreover, they examined strategies to integrate endowments into sustainable development and bolster the community presence of religious and endowment institutions. After deliberations, the participants agreed on measures to bolster cooperation and coordination among GCC nations in Islamic affairs and endowment sectors. They aimed to foster a unified vision on shared issues and boost the integration of GCC efforts in this crucial area.
