Packers Running Back Josh Jacobs Charged With Battery

Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs was charged on Thursday with two misdemeanors in connection to his arrest in May. Brown County prosecutors filed the charges of misdemeanor battery and misdemeanor criminal damage to property, among five charges Jacobs was arrested for. Jacobs was initially booked in May for a domestic dispute, leading to preliminary charges of domestic abuse battery, disorderly conduct, and felony strangulation/suffocation.

The NFL's Personal Conduct Policy could also result in further discipline for Jacobs. Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst stated that the team has prepared for potential additional discipline against Jacobs. Gutekunst added that the Packers could maintain an extra running back on their 53-man roster if needed. Jacobs played all 15 games in 2025, recording a team-high 929 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns on 234 carries, and tied for fourth in the NFL in rushing touchdowns.
