Nepal floods: West Bengal opens control room; Tollywood actor among those stranded

TERRICIA Govender, a 33-year-old mother from Isipingo Beach, is believed to be among missing pilgrims caught in the recent floods in Nepal. The incident occurred on August 12 when an immigration office along the Tibet-Nepal border was destroyed by flash floods. Her mother, Linda Govender, said her daughter had been eagerly looking forward to her pilgrimage for months.

Terricia was traveling alone, yet was part of a larger tour group associated with the Isha Foundation, on their return from the Mount Kailash Yatra. Her family learned of her inclusion in the missing from the Isha Foundation. Terricia was a devoted follower of Sadhguru and had planned to visit Lord Shiva's birthplace. Her family last communicated with her on Tuesday, and her absence from a scheduled call raised concerns.

Initially, the family thought the lack of communication was due to poor cellphone reception. However, on August 22, they received an email from the Isha Foundation confirming her presence at the border and now missing. The lack of information has left the family feeling helpless, especially since they are far away and have no direct contacts in the affected region.

Terricia had recently celebrated her 33rd birthday with Sadhguru, a milestone they considered particularly special. The family was devastated upon seeing flood videos, imagining where Terricia might have been at the time, and what her current situation is. They are urging anyone with information about Terricia or the affected group to come forward, pleading for her safe return home.

The family also appeals for clearer communication from authorities and organizations involved in the search efforts, expressing frustration at the lack of support from the embassy. They continue to await news of Terricia's whereabouts, hoping for news of her safety.
