NDC promised 24-hour economy but cannot deliver 1-hour economy — John Boadu

John Boadu, a National Chairman aspirant for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has criticized the NDC government for failing to fulfill campaign pledges, including the promise of a 24-hour economy and the fight against illegal mining, also known as galamsey. Speaking after nominating himself at the NPP headquarters on August 27, Boadu said the administration had not made significant progress towards a 24-hour economy and that illegal mining had worsened under its watch.

Boadu warned that continued illegal mining could force residents to relocate as mining activities encroach on their homes. He also expressed disappointment in individuals and groups who previously criticized the NPP but now remain silent under the current administration. Boadu pledged to strengthen the NPP structures ahead of the 2028 general election, calling for rebranding and mobilization of resources to empower party structures from the constituency level to the regional level.

He emphasized his experience in party organization, communication, and strategy, promising to bring 30 years of expertise to the National Chairman position. Boadu's primary focus is to build a strong grassroots organization capable of delivering electoral victories for the party in 2028, with the party's structures at the electoral area, polling station, and constituency levels being crucial to achieving a parliamentary majority.
