Kuching City hit six against flu-hit KL City, JDT run riot with 9-0 demolition in Super League goalfest

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 27 — KL City FC suffered a 6-0 defeat to Kuching City FC in their 2026-2027 Super League match at Kuala Lumpur Football Stadium last night. Striker Ajdin Mujagic gave Kuching City the lead in the fourth minute, with Etame doubling the lead in the 25th minute. With a weakened side due to an influenza outbreak, KL City could not recover.

Kuching City were further reduced to 10 men in the 44th minute following a red card to captain James Okwuosa. Etame completed a hat-trick in the 48th and 52nd minutes, while Mujagic added his second goal in the 59th. Etame struck again in stoppage time, securing the victory for Kuching City. Defending champions Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) dominated Kelantan Red Warrior FC 9-0 at Sultan Ibrahim Stadium.

Iranian striker Shahab Zahedi was the top scorer with four goals, including two headers and two regular shots. An own goal from Muhammad Mohd Faudzi in stoppage time extended JDT's lead to 3-0. Jairo da Silva, Zahedi, Matias Nahuel, Eddy Israfilov, and Arif Aiman Mohd Hanapi added to JDT's impressive tally in the 49th, 50th, 62nd, 78th, 81st, and 90th minutes respectively.
