Kabinet lulus cadangan bina lebuh raya bertingkat Bandar Malaysia-Seri Kembangan

The Malaysian government has officially approved the plan to build a high-level expressway connecting the Southern Malaysia City of Bandar Malaysia to Seri Kembangan in Selangor. Known as BSE (Bandar Selangor Expressway), this expressway will connect several major expressways, including KL-Seremban Expressway, MEX Expressway, and Besraya Expressway.

The Minister of Communications and Multimedia, Alexander Nanta Linggi, said BSE could provide an alternative route for road users, easing traffic flow between north, south, and eastern corridors of the Malay Peninsula. In terms of public welfare, BSE could reduce travel time and increase access to business centers, educational institutions, and public services, according to a statement released today.

The minister said his ministry will now conduct detailed consultations and assessments to finalize the project's implementation structure in collaboration with all relevant agencies, including the Public-Private Partnership Unit (UKAS) under the Prime Minister's Department. He added that the project will be fully funded by the private sector and will not involve any financial commitment from the federal government.

The government will ensure every aspect of the project is thoroughly evaluated from a safety standpoint and fiscal capacity before any final decision is made regarding its implementation, Nanta said. The government will also continue to explore other infrastructure projects to enhance the road network and address congestion in the Klang Valley.
