Kabinet lulus cadangan bina lebuh raya bertingkat Bandar Malaysia-Seri Kembangan

The Malaysian Cabinet has officially approved the proposal to construct a dual-lane highway connecting Bandar Malaysia in Selangor to Seri Kembangan, the source reports. The highway, known as the Bandar Setia Expressway (BSE), will link several major expressways, including the KL-Seremban Expressway, MEX Expressway, Besraya Expressway, New Pantai Expressway, Kesas Expressway, and broader Sprint Expressway network.

According to Alexander Nanta Linggi, the Minister of Communications and Multimedia, the BSE will provide an alternate route for road users and help alleviate traffic congestion between northern, southern, and eastern corridors of the Peninsula. From a citizen's perspective, the expressway could reduce travel time and enhance accessibility to business centers, educational institutions, and public services, the statement notes today.

Nanta's ministry is currently conducting extensive discussions and assessments to finalize the project's implementation structure in collaboration with all relevant agencies, including the Public-Private Partnership Unit (UKAS) under the Prime Minister's Department. The project will be fully funded by the private sector and will not involve any government financial commitment, he adds.

The government will ensure thorough evaluation of every aspect of the project, considering public safety and fiscal feasibility before making any definitive decisions regarding its implementation, Nanta emphasizes. He also notes that the government will continue exploring other infrastructure projects to complete the expressway network and address traffic congestion in the Klang Valley.
