India sends more aid, looks at bailey bridges to help Nepal efforts as death toll rises to 359

All India Congress Committee President Mallikarjun Kharge expressed deep concern over the severe flash floods in Nepal on Thursday. He urgently requested the Union government to provide assistance to stranded tourists and pilgrims from India, particularly those from Karnataka. Kharge indicated his intention to write a formal letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, advocating for comprehensive compensation and assistance measures for the affected families.

He highlighted that the catastrophic deluge in Nepal has impacted numerous citizens from the entire country, with hundreds caught in the floods, several lives lost, and many reported missing. Kharge conveyed his condolences to the families of those who perished in the natural disaster. He underscored the strong bilateral ties between India and Nepal, urging the Central government to extend significant relief aid to Nepal for supporting search, rescue, and rehabilitation efforts alongside the foreign administration.
