UP Board Urges Classes 9-12 Students To Get APAAR IDs For Digital Academic Records

Lucknow, August 27 - The Yogi government is actively promoting the use of APAAR IDs (Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry IDs) among students in Classes 9 to 12, as part of its commitment to a secure, transparent and digital education system. The 12-digit digital identity aims to maintain students' academic records securely and systematically from school to higher education.

Board of Secondary Education, Uttar Pradesh (UP Board) is urging schools to collect APAAR ID details from students and include them in advance registration and examination forms. UP Board's initiative, based on the "One Nation, One Student ID" concept, seeks to ensure that students' academic records are easily accessible and secure as they advance through their education.

Additional Chief Secretary, Secondary Education, Parth Sarathi Sen Sharma announced that the Board is currently engaged in the process of advance registration for Classes 9 and 11, as well as the completion of examination application forms for Classes 10 and 12. The promotion of the APAAR ID system is aimed at maintaining the transparency, accuracy and security of students' academic details.

APAAR ID enables digital storage of academic credits, report cards, mark sheets, transfer certificates and other certificates on DigiLocker, reducing the risk of document loss or damage. The ID streamlines the distribution of scholarships, welfare schemes and educational facilities, ensuring students receive benefits based on accurate information and records.

While obtaining APAAR ID is not mandatory, the Board strongly encourages the process, emphasizing its importance for students' digital academic futures. School principals, teachers and parents are being urged to facilitate the creation of APAAR IDs for students, as the Board aims to ensure 100% participation before the last date for advance registration.
