Google AI Mode can now tell you when flights get cheaper and book your hotel

Google's AI Mode now offers three travel features to help users plan and book trips more efficiently. Users can now set up flight price alerts, compare rewards points against cash, and book hotels all within one conversation. Google Flights has provided price alerts for some time, but now this feature is integrated into AI Mode.

By inputting destination and travel dates, the system scans over 300 airlines and travel sites for current fares. If desired, users can have the feature continue monitoring prices and send an email when changes occur. The feature works in over 180 countries.

For travelers with rewards points, AI Mode can now display the cost in miles for specific flights or hotels. Users can ask about the AAdvantage rate for a given flight, such as Atlanta to Miami on American Airlines, and the AI will provide the information. At launch, the feature supports bookings through airlines including Alaska, Hawaiian, American, and Choice Hotels, as well as hotel chains like Hilton and Wyndham.

Additional providers like Accor, Flying Blue, Hyatt, LATAM, and Lufthansa’s Miles & More are expected to join soon.

The latest addition allows users to book a hotel directly through AI Mode. By describing their desired stay, specifying budget, and other preferences, the AI will suggest hotels with reviews and essential details. Once a preferred option is chosen, selecting "Continue on Google" will guide users through selecting a room, viewing cancellation policies, and completing payment through Google Pay.

This feature is set to launch in the US over the coming weeks, with partnerships including Booking.com, Expedia, Marriott, and Priceline.
