Foul smell leads to discovery of body in aircraft wheel compartment at KLIA2

At Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 (KLIA2) today, an unidentified body was discovered inside the wheel compartment of an aircraft. The body, whose gender remains unknown, was found around 6:55 am following the arrival of a Tokyo-bound flight at approximately 6:30 am, according to a Berita Harian report.

Engineering staff were assigned to open the aircraft’s wheel compartment when they detected a suspicious foul smell. Upon opening the compartment, they discovered the body, which was reportedly wearing jeans and a white shirt. The staff immediately informed the KLIA2 police station operations room about their discovery.

The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) Forensics Unit was subsequently dispatched to the scene to conduct further investigations. Preliminary findings suggest that the victim was likely in their 20s and had been deceased for over three days. However, no identification documents were found on the body.

Authorities are now conducting further investigations to identify the victim and determine the cause of death.
