Felda teliti isu tanam semula Palong 7, sedia kerjasama SPRM

Felda has stated that it will not compromise the interests of any stakeholders or the integrity of its organization in the comprehensive investigation of the replanting program at Felda Palong 7, Negeri Sembilan, following concerns raised by the planters and a report submitted to Malaysia's Anti-Corruption Agency (SPRM). The investigation will cover aspects such as management, procurement processes, field operations, seed quality, and the administration of the Felda Plantation Management Sdn Bhd (FPMSB) program.

Felda emphasized that each aspect will be examined objectively based on facts, records, and authorized procedures.

Earlier, SPRM announced it was investigating information related to the replanted palm oil program at Felda Palong 7, including issues concerning seed quality and adherence to specifications provided. The information was received from Mohd Syahrizal Md Yusuf, President of the Palong Generations Integration Body (Perbagi), who, along with a group of young planters, presented the details at SPRM's headquarters.

SPRM stated that the concerns raised include procurement, transportation, storage, seed age, and adherence to specifications, in addition to requests for technical quality and specification adherence to be reviewed by the relevant agency. The program is reported to benefit around 450 planters and is estimated to cost between RM70 million and RM80 million.

Other issues raised by younger planters include the cost of procurement, transportation fees, and the execution of the replanted program.

SPRM said any further action would be determined based on the results of the investigation and the information obtained, while stressing that receiving the information does not imply any wrongdoing or that any individual or party can be considered the cause of the problems. Felda stated that they are committed to working fully with SPRM to assist in the assessment or inquiry related to the matter while remaining committed to ensuring that every plantation management responsibility is carried out professionally, honestly, and with integrity for the well-being of planters.
