MACC reviewing complaint over Felda Palong 7 replanting programme

The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) is investigating claims regarding the quality of oil palm seedlings used in a replanting program at Felda Palong 7 in Negeri Sembilan. The complaints were submitted by Syahrizal Md Yusuf, chairman of Pertubuhan Badan Bertindak Generasi Palong (Perbagi), who raised concerns about the supply, delivery, storage, age, and specification compliance of the seedlings.

MACC stated that receiving the information does not imply any party has committed an offense and should not be interpreted as a conclusion against any individual or party. The agency is examining the allegations to ascertain if there are any elements associated with offenses within its jurisdiction. Additionally, MACC has requested technical agencies to evaluate the technical aspects of the seedlings, such as their quality and conformity with specifications.

Any subsequent action will depend on the outcome of the review and the information gathered. The program, which supports approximately 450 settlers, is valued between RM70 million and RM80 million. Perbagi reported the concerns to MACC headquarters in Putrajaya about five to six months ago.
