Days before Mohan Bhagwat’s New York event, X suspends host AHEAD’s account

The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) event featuring its chief, Mohan Bhagwat, in New York was organized with the aim of fostering open dialogue and mutual respect, according to senior RSS functionary Sunil Ambekar. The remarks came in response to criticism from New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani who opposed Bhagwat's participation in the Universal Oneness Celebrations at the Infosys Theater in Madison Square Garden.

The Universal Oneness Celebration is an interfaith gathering where Bhagwat will engage with a diverse, multicultural, and multi-faith audience. The RSS national media and publicity head emphasized that the event reflects the inclusive and welcoming ethos of the Bharatiya tradition. Ambekar stated that the RSS is committed to engaging with varied communities across India and the world, fostering understanding and shared purpose.

The RSS invites anyone interested in learning more about their vision and philosophy to participate in these open forums of dialogue. The event, scheduled for August 29, will see Bhagwat addressing a gathering of around 5,000 people at the iconic Madison Square Garden.
