Bengals roster battles in the spotlight heading into Friday’s preseason finale at Eagles
Cincinnati Bengals are set to face Philadelphia Eagles in their preseason finale on Friday. The spotlight is on roster battles, particularly at the offensive tackle position. Cody Ford, who had been the team's backup tackle for three seasons, was cut by the Bengals. Instead, the team is focusing on a competition between second-year player Jalen Rivers and Javon Foster, who has seen limited playing time.
Wide receiver Dohnte Meyers is making a strong case for a roster spot, impressing in training camp and preseason. The Bengals have significant depth at receiver, tight end, and defensive tackle, presenting challenging decisions. Defensively, the team has a deep defensive line, but the defensive tackle position could be impacted by the roster decisions.
