Former Tabung Haji president and former Perbendaharaan treasurer have been granted seven-day reprieves by the Malaysian Court of Appeal to aid an investigation by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) into the findings of the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) on TH's management and operations, according to Sinar Harian.

The order, issued by Judge Ezrene Zakariah, was filed by the MACC on Friday at the Court of Appeal in Putrajaya. Earlier, MACC Chairman Abd Halim Aman stated that the case is under Section 23 of the MACC Act for using one's position to gain an advantage. The RCI, established to investigate TH's management, operations, and assets from 2014 to 2020, found that TH's true financial situation was concealed, including undisclosed losses from problematic investments and the use of "creative accounting" techniques to justify annual profit distributions.

The commission also discovered that TH's financial problems stemmed from political interference in the appointment of board members, undeveloped donations, and the National Audit Department's failure to adequately audit the accounts due to concerns about the accuracy of audit findings.
