ACS crece en defensa con una base en Córdoba de 350 millones

Spain's ACS defense firm is expanding its presence in defense infrastructure projects, with a significant contract for the construction of the first phase of the new Base Logística del Ejército de Tierra (BLET) General Javier Varela de Córdoba. The €391 million project, awarded to ACS through its subsidiaries Dragados and Vias, is a crucial investment in Spain's military infrastructure.

ACS secured the contract after a fierce competition, outbidding Vias in a joint alliance with Ferrovial. The winning bid, which accounted for 87% of the contract value, included the construction of buildings, civil engineering works, and the installation of military facilities, focusing on logistics and weapon system maintenance.

Vias, a subsidiary of ACS, secured the remaining 13% of the contract, which focused on administrative and service facilities. The project, overseen by ACS CEO Florentino Pérez, is scheduled for implementation in UTE, after winning the competitive bid process alongside other European firms.

The BLET project is just one of many defense-related construction contracts in Spain's pipeline, including the expansion of Rota Naval Base, Cartagena Naval Station, Cádiz Arsenal, and Las Palmas Naval Pier. These projects, which are currently in the pre-contract phase, are set to be tendered in the coming months, showcasing Spain's commitment to strengthening its defense infrastructure and capabilities.
