Sheikh Zayed Houbara Programme showcases 49 years of conservation at ADIHEX 2026

The International Fund for Houbara Conservation (IFHC) and Ekthar will exhibit the success and future plans of the Sheikh Zayed Houbara Conservation Programme at ADIHEX 2026, running from August 28 to September 6 at ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi. The pavilion, under the theme "The Legacy Lives On," will journey from the vision of late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan to the present-day scientific and conservation advancements.

IFHC oversees conservation, advocacy, education, and falconer community engagement, while Ekthar provides the scientific, technical, and operational expertise. Reneco, a 40-year-old Ekthar entity, handles breeding, research, and habitat monitoring. Since 1977, the programme has bred over 1.1 million houbaras and released more than 668,000 birds, utilizing data from tracking more than 6,000 birds to improve release techniques and habitat identification.

IFHC Acting Director General Mohamed AlMotawa AlDhaheri highlighted ADIHEX as a platform to showcase this extensive conservation program across 22 countries. The pavilion will feature a 3D breeding center model, live houbaras and stone-curlews, and AI eye-recognition technology developed with Khalifa University. Workshops, student participation, and exclusive Hubara Design pieces will further engage visitors in conservation science and cultural heritage. The pavilion will occupy Stand A-020 in the Atrium Area throughout ADIHEX 2026.
