Pahang Bersatu duo back Wan Rosdy, pledge support until next state election

KUANTAN - Two Pahang Bersatu assemblymen, Mohd Yazid Mohd Yunus and Datuk Jasri Jamaludin, have reaffirmed their backing for Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail until the next state election. This pledge was made jointly, with the support of the Bersatu leadership. Their decision stems from the need to maintain political stability in Pahang and ensure the wellbeing of the constituents in the Lepar and Kuala Sentul constituencies.

The statement emphasized that the Pahang government will continue to prioritize development and welfare in these areas. Both assemblymen expressed their commitment to fulfilling their responsibilities and collaborating with the state administration. They reiterated that political stability, people's welfare, and good governance should remain top priorities amidst the evolving political landscape.

Yazid and Jasri, who are the Pahang Bersatu chairman and deputy chairman, respectively, won their constituencies during the 15th general election (GE15). Pahang has 17 elected representatives, with 15 from PAS and two from Bersatu, held by Yazid and Jasri. Lepar is part of the Umno-led Paya Besar parliamentary constituency, while Kuala Sentul is under the Pas-led Maran constituency.

In the 15th general election, both Barisan Nasional and PN won 17 seats in the Pahang Legislative Assembly, while Pakatan Harapan secured eight seats, resulting in the current 42-member assembly composition. BN and PH subsequently formed the state unity government.
