NCsoft Unveils AION 2, CINDER CITY and Like or Die at Gamescom 2026

At the Gamescom 2026 event held in Cologne, Germany, NCsoft revealed three new game titles: AION 2, CINDER CITY, and Like or Die. The company's presence at Gamescom aims to expand its global reach in PC gaming markets beyond its traditional MMORPG focus.

During Gamescom's Opening Night Live, NCsoft showcased new footage for both AION 2 and CINDER CITY. Unlike its previous titles, Like or Die is a team-based survival first-person shooter. Players assume the role of streamers competing with teammates to secure the top spot, with gameplay featuring "Block" combat and battles to destroy an opposing team's "Nexus." The game is currently in development and made its global debut at Gamescom.

AION 2, a sequel to NCsoft's long-running MMORPG AION, is set to launch globally on October 5 across North America, South America, Europe, and Asia. The game will be available on PC through Steam and NCsoft's PURPLE service. Prior to the release, NCsoft will conduct a two-day "Launch Scale Test" on September 17 and 18 to evaluate server and infrastructure stability. Players will have the opportunity to experience the game before its official launch.

CINDER CITY, another new release, transports players to a dystopian vision of Seoul. The company has already tested the game with overseas players, with a pre-alpha playtest held for U.S. users from August 14 to 16. CINDER CITY expands NCsoft's international lineup of games and leverages a recognizable Korean urban setting in its fictional world.

The introduction of an original team-based survival FPS alongside AION 2 and CINDER CITY signals NCsoft's strategy to diversify its genres and reduce dependence on its traditional MMORPG market.
