Lotus Technology completes acquisition of Lotus UK

Lotus Technology has finalized its acquisition of Lotus UK. The acquisition merges two previously separate operations, including UK sportscar production and engineering consultancy services. The deal was prompted by put options exercised by two shareholders - Geely International (Hong Kong) and Etika Automotive. Geely HK exercised its option in April 2025, while Etika Automotive followed suit in July 2025.

Lotus UK, located in Hethel, Norfolk, is responsible for manufacturing Lotus' sportscars and hypercars, while Lotus Engineering provides consultancy services in lightweight design, aerodynamics, and chassis dynamics. The restructuring aims to align engineering, manufacturing, product development, and commercial functions under a single ownership structure.

Lotus Technology CEO Qingfeng Feng stated that this move unifies the brand, enhancing global competitiveness and accelerating product development and market expansion. The company plans to maintain its engineering and design operations in the UK, leveraging more than 78 years of motorsport and engineering history as it expands its international reach.
