Eiffage secures two French hospital contracts worth $154m

Eiffage has secured two significant hospital contracts in France, totaling €154 million ($153.9 million). The first contract, worth €109 million, is for the Convergences project at Angers University Hospital. This project involves constructing a 38,400m², five-story building with emergency services, operating theatres, imaging centers, and adult critical care units.

The design aims for E+C Level 3 and HQE Excellent certifications, incorporating bioclimatic architecture and renewable energy generation. Construction began recently, with completion expected by late 2029.

The second contract, almost €31 million, is for the new Avallon hospital centre. Eiffage Construction will serve as the lead contractor in this consortium, which also includes BSA Architecte, Ingénieurs associés, Edeis, Amstein + Walthert, and landscape designer Rocher Rouge. The 9,676m² building will be the first hospital in France to meet RE2020 regulations, utilizing low-carbon concrete, bio-based insulation, and rooftop photovoltaic generation. Works are expected to commence by the end of Q1 2027 and conclude by late 2028.

Eiffage emphasizes its turnkey approach, handling projects from design to commissioning and infrastructure maintenance. These contracts follow earlier announcements for two waste-to-energy plants in Limoges and Grenoble, worth €393 million in total, with Eiffage contributing nearly €162 million. In Limoges, a consortium led by Veolia subsidiary Soval, with Eiffage Génie Civil and HOBO architects, holds the €148 million design-build contract.

Commissioning of the facility is planned for 2029. Additionally, Eiffage Construction recently secured the design and construction contract for the Oise energy syndicate headquarters in Beauvais, France.
