Kota Tinggi brawl: 12 nabbed after pre-dawn police raid, baseball bat and stick seized

Kota Tinggi police have apprehended 12 individuals for their alleged participation in a violent altercation that involved weapons. The incident occurred in Taman Kota Jaya, Kota Tinggi, earlier in the day. Superintendent Yusof Othman, the Kota Tinggi police chief, revealed that he received an alert about the event at 1.57am. In response, the district police's Criminal Investigation Department (CID) initiated a pre-dawn operation, resulting in the arrest of 12 male suspects aged between 20 and 42 between 3am and 5am.

During the operation, police officers recovered 13 mobile phones, a wooden stick measuring 90 centimetres in length, a baseball bat measuring 71cm, and three vehicles. These items were seized from the suspects during the raid. Yusof stated that the arrested individuals and the seized items were subsequently transferred to the Kota Tinggi district police headquarters for further scrutiny.

The police are actively pursuing additional suspects involved in the brawl, which they are investigating under Section 148 of the Penal Code, which pertains to possessing weapons or projectiles during a riot. Superintendent Yusof called upon members of the public who possess information regarding the case to come forward and aid the ongoing investigation.
