Otti’s Scorecard, Not Alliance, ‘ll Lead to Victory, LP Chieftain Tells Abia APC

In Abia State, Nwabueze Onwuneme, a Labour Party chieftain, has stated that Governor Alex Otti's performance in office will be the key factor for the party's success in the upcoming 2027 elections. He dismissed the need for any alliance with the All Progressives Congress (APC) to retain power, emphasizing that the Otti administration's record should be judged by its achievements.

Onwuneme praised some APC leaders and members for recognizing the successes of the Otti administration, highlighting that good governance should be appreciated irrespective of party affiliations. He criticized the aggressive language used by the APC chairman, Chijioke Chukwu, in describing Governor Otti as a "tyrant" and criticized the use of political rhetoric instead of factual evidence to back up allegations regarding the cost of government contracts.

Onwuneme urged Chukwu to focus on presenting credible alternatives rather than making statements to attract attention. He argued that excessive political attacks risk undermining the credibility of the APC and that the Otti administration's socioeconomic and infrastructural development has changed the perception of governance in Abia.

Onwunem emphasized that Abians are more interested in tangible development than in political attacks, and that the 2027 election will be decided by how the incumbent's performance is perceived by the people.
