PUTRAJAYA, Aug 26 — The Malaysian Embassy in Kathmandu has reported that 11 Malaysian nationals are currently out of contact, believed to be in Nepal's Rasuwa district after massive floods. The Foreign Ministry, known as Wisma Putra, stated that the loss of contact was directly due to communication and power network disruptions caused by the disaster.

The embassy is working closely with local authorities and Nepalese search and rescue teams to locate and ensure the safety of the affected Malaysians. The embassy urged Malaysians in or traveling through Nepal, especially those near the affected areas, to stay vigilant, prioritize personal safety, and follow all safety instructions issued by local authorities.

They also requested Malaysians to register and update their contact details through the e-Konsular portal. For immediate assistance or emergencies, Malaysians can contact the Embassy in Kathmandu via phone or email. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will continue monitoring the situation closely and will provide further updates once verified information about the Malaysian nationals is available.

Media reports indicated that a severe flash flood hit the Bhote Koshi River area in Nepal's Rasuwa district on Wednesday morning, causing extensive damage to markets, settlements, and infrastructure.
