The commercial appeal and a larger global audience in the US are driving promoters towards American soil. However, Joshua's contract insists that the fight must take place in the United Kingdom.

Matchroom Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn described the ongoing negotiations as a "crunch week" and revealed that he has sent contract revisions, including a higher purse for Joshua to offset the tax deficit in the US. Hearn also mentioned that Joshua is prepared to return to training after a brief break and is eager to avoid pushing the fight to December.
