Vietnam seal fourth Asean crown with 4-2 aggregate win over Thailand

Hanoi, Vietnam witnessed a thrilling Asean Championship final as Vietnam secured their fourth consecutive title with a 4-2 aggregate win over Thailand. The match, held at My Dinh National Stadium, saw both teams come from behind to draw 2-2 in the first leg. Despite two own goals by Thailand's goalkeeper Chatchai Bootprom and a missed penalty by Kakana Khamyok, Thailand's hopes of overturning the deficit seemed dashed.

Vietnam's Brazil-born winger, Do Hoang Hen, celebrated the victory, expressing his long-awaited pride in the win. The Thai team had early hope when Yotsakon Burapha scored, but Thailand missed a crucial penalty just four minutes later. Vietnam's Chatchai Bootprom inadvertently lost the game for his team by hitting the post in the 52nd minute, allowing the final goal to be scored by Wanchai Jarunongkran.
