Family announces Fidau, artists’ tribute for late actor Ogogo

The family of late Nollywood actor, Taiwo Hasan, widely known as Ogogo, has announced the upcoming burial rites for the 66-year-old veteran. Ogogo passed away on Sunday, August 23, 2026, and was buried in Ilaro, Ogun State on the following day, according to Islamic rites. Colleagues, friends, and associates from the entertainment industry, including Jide Kosoko, Yinka Quadri, Femi Adebayo, attended his burial.

On Wednesday, veteran actor Jide Kosoko announced the family's plans for the remaining burial rites in a Facebook post. The family intends to hold the 8th-day Fidau Prayer 40 days after Ogogo's burial at the Pavilion Hall in Ilaro on Monday, August 31, 2026. The post also mentions that the Artists' Day is a tradition and fitting tribute from the entertainment industry to pay homage to the late actor.

Kosoko expressed gratitude towards everyone who attended Ogogo's burial, stating that the family hopes everyone will continue to support them during this difficult period. The family seeks the assistance of friends, colleagues, fans, and well-wishers to gather en masse in Ilaro so that together they can offer prayers for the peaceful repose of their beloved colleague and ask Almighty Allah to grant him Al-Jannah Firdaus.
