Ex Ilva, scende in gara per il salvataggio anche il gruppo CE Industries

CE Industries, a Czech industrial group, has emerged as a potential savior for the former Ilva, according to Italy's Minister of Enterprises, Adolfo Urso. The company, which operates primarily in Europe and North America, is pursuing the ex-Ilva with a proposal for interest submitted to the commissioners. The Italian steel companies, guided by Federacciai, have accessed the data room to learn more about the company's state.

The Italians aim to acquire only the cold processing area, including rolling mills, strip trains, and finishing. The hot processing area, comprising cokers, regenerative furnaces, and steelworks, must cease by the end of October due to a decree from the Milan Court of Appeal. This decree halted the operation due to concerns about fine dust and asbestos harming workers, citizens, and the environment.

Ilva's administration is also preparing an appeal against the decree, which will likely be resolved faster than if taken to the Supreme Court. Jindal, an Indian steel group, has recently revised its offer to include both cold and hot processing areas, pending further evaluation by the Italian courts. Urso emphasized the need for responsibility and collaboration among all institutions to ensure a fair outcome for the entire region, rather than a socially and productively detrimental decision.
