Esfiha de juros: Habib’s entra em RJ com dívidas de R$ 265 milhões

Habib’s, owned by the Gennius Group, has entered judicial recovery in Brazil with debts of R$ 265.2 million. Bradesco is the primary lender, holding approximately 40% of the credits, while other banks include Daycoval, Original, and Inter. The company will have 60 days to submit a plan detailing how it intends to restructure the debts and negotiate terms with creditors.

The recovery follows a previous temporary protection granted by a temporary injunction requested by the group in late June to negotiate a restructuring with the banks. The inclusion of Antonio Alberto Saraiva, founder of Habib’s, and his brother Belchior Saraiva Neto, who own a rural estate, in the recovery aims to protect assets linked to potential creditor executions.

The restructuring process will be more amicable for suppliers, with the possibility of zero haircut and extended payments. The company will also continue expanding its delivery services and new store formats.
