EPL: Rooney names two Man Utd stars Carrick should drop against Ipswich Town

Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney has suggested that manager Michael Carrick should drop two players from the team's starting lineup for their upcoming Premier League match against Ipswich Town at Old Trafford. The Red Devils will be looking to bounce back after suffering a defeat to Hull City in their first Premier League game of the season.

Speaking on The Overlap, Rooney called for Carrick to bench Luke Shaw and Andrey Santos, both of whom have been key players for Manchester United in recent times. Rooney stated, "I think players need to take responsibility on the pitch. I would change Luke Shaw, and I would play Dorgu at left-back, be a bit more aggressive [against Ipswich Town]."

He added, "I don't think we can rely on him [Shaw] to play all the games, so when you are playing against a newly promoted team at home, I would play Dorgu at left-back." When asked about potential changes to Manchester United's midfield, Rooney suggested that Mainoo could be introduced in place of Santos, saying, "Mainoo, probably, yeah. I would bring Mainoo in for Santos."
