Detroit Lions host RB Kareem Hunt, try out two cornerbacks

The Detroit Lions welcomed former Pro Bowl running back Kareem Hunt to the team facility on Tuesday, as reported by the NFL transaction list. Hunt, a third-round pick in 2017, had a standout rookie season with the Kansas City Chiefs, rushing for 1,327 yards, eight touchdowns, and a solid 4.9 yards per carry. However, his career took a turn for the worse following an off-field incident where video surfaced of him assaulting a 19-year-old girl, leading to his release by the Chiefs less than two years into his career.

Since then, Hunt has bounced between the Browns and the Chiefs, but has yet to achieve the same success as his early days in Kansas City.

In addition to Hunt's visit, the Lions also hosted two cornerbacks for tryouts: Shaun Jolly and Eric Scott. Jolly, undrafted out of Appalachian State in 2022, played three seasons with the Rams before a season-ending injury in 2025. Standing at 5-foot-9, 180 pounds, Jolly possesses versatility to play on both sides of the field.

Scott, on the other hand, is a more traditional outside cornerback at 6-foot-2, 197 pounds. Although he has yet to make his first NFL appearance after being drafted by the Cowboys in the sixth round in 2023, he has spent time on both the Cowboys' and Chiefs' practice squads.
