Christians urged not to hide their gifts for church development

The West Volta Presbytery Church Choirs Union of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church Ghana recently concluded its 2026 Biennial Conference. The union, which comprises three zones and 832 choristers from different districts, emphasized the importance of Christians not hiding their potential for church development. The conference was held at the Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Mempeasem, near East Legon, Accra, with the theme "Cleanliness is next to Godliness, keep clean! Our commitment as choristers."

Moderator Reverend Professor Daniel Yao Bruce addressed the attendees, encouraging Christians to seek self-knowledge as an essential element of worshipping God. He urged them to be bold and address environmental degradation, including galamsey practices, to ensure natural resources remain clean for present and future generations.

Bruce also cautioned the choristers against spreading misinformation and becoming a source of falsehoods that could lead people to leave the church. He stressed the importance of record-keeping to preserve the church's history for future generations.

President Benjamin Aglah of the West Volta Presbytery Church Choirs Union called on fellow choristers to demonstrate the sanctity of God's creation by speaking against practices like littering, dumping, and damaging water bodies through galamsey. He encouraged them to learn from each other to improve their performance and maintain a zealous, upright approach to their responsibilities.

The conference also received goodwill messages from the President of WVPCCU, Member of Parliament John Setor Dumelo, and the District Pastor of the West Volta Presbytery Synod.
