CE takes to streets to gather views for Policy Address

Chief Executive John Lee conducted community outreach in Sham Shui Po District to collect resident opinions before his upcoming Policy Address. Lee began at Un Chau Estate, where he visited Un Shing House to check on an 88-year-old resident who expressed satisfaction with her recent ambulatory care center follow-up. Ambulatory care surgery enables patients to recover at home the same day, a government-promoted service.

Lee then toured an elderly center to learn about its activities and services. Many locals welcomed his visit, sharing appreciation for the care demonstrated by the chief executive. Lee reiterated the government's commitment to improving public welfare, pledging continuous progress. He encouraged seniors to remain active, informing them about the primary healthcare services available at the local district health center.

During his journey, Lee participated in a neighborhood sports event, trying out an exercise bike despite his typically busy schedule. He also engaged with a secondary school student, Kong, emphasizing that young people are Hong Kong's future. Lee visited a 24-hour contact center to witness how AI tools expedite the processing of public inquiries, accompanied by officials including Alice Mak, Lo Chung-mau, and Sun Dong.
