Boston Scientific, a prominent medical device company, has disclosed that its global operations have been severely impacted by an ongoing cyberattack, as reported in an SEC filing. The incident, which began on Tuesday, has resulted in a "global disruption to the company's operations." Upon discovering the unauthorized access, the firm initiated an investigation with external cybersecurity experts to mitigate the threat.

However, the medtech corporation has not yet provided clarification on whether the attack was a ransomware infection or if any confidential data was stolen following the breach. The disruption has caused and will likely continue to impact certain of the company's information systems and business applications, hindering the ability to process and dispatch customer orders.
