Apple sets Sept. 9 date for next iPhone launch event

Apple is set to unveil its latest iPhone series and potentially its highly anticipated foldable phone at a launch event on September 9, according to a statement from senior executive Greg Joswiak on X. This first foldable iPhone is anticipated to be a significant milestone for Apple, with analysts predicting that high-end devices will drive increased selling prices and margin growth for the company.

Moreover, the device is expected to challenge Samsung Electronics' dominance in the growing foldable smartphone market. This launch will also mark the first major event for new CEO John Ternus, who is scheduled to assume leadership at Apple on September 1, as Tim Cook steps down to become executive chairman.
