2 Bersatu reps in Pahang back Wan Rosdy until next state polls

Kuala Sentul assemblyman Jasri Jamaludin and Lepar assemblyman Yazid Yunus, both members of Bersatu, have expressed their support for Pahang's menteri besar Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail until the next state election. In a joint statement, Jari and Yazid said the decision was made in agreement with the top leadership of Bersatu. They emphasized the importance of maintaining political stability in Pahang and ensuring the welfare of their constituents.

The two assemblymen, who are the only elected representatives of Bersatu in Pahang's 42-seat state assembly, stated that they will continue to perform their duties and cooperate with the state administration to safeguard the development, welfare, and interests of their constituents. They believe that amid the changing political landscape, the needs of the people, state stability, and the continuity of good governance should always be a priority.

The Pahang assembly, currently governed by a unity administration comprised of Barisan Nasional (BN) and Pakatan Harapan (PH), has 42 seats. BN holds 17 seats, while PH has 8, giving the coalition a total of 25 seats. Perikatan Nasional holds the remaining 17 seats, of which 15 are held by PAS, and the other two are occupied by Jasri and Yazid.

Pahang's BN leader had earlier this month stated that BN favored the continuation of the unity government with PH until the next general election.
