After Pahang duo, Hilman says 'not impossible' for S'gor Bersatu reps to support MB

Bersatu vice-president Ahmad Faizal Azumu, also known as Peja, has stated that the party will face a significant challenge if it contests the Melaka state election alone. The vice-president acknowledged that forming an alliance with other parties is crucial to strengthen Bersatu's position. He clarified that without such an alliance, it would be difficult for the party to move forward independently, as the divisions within Melaka are not strong enough to support such a move.

Faizal's comments came in response to a question about whether Bersatu would contest the election on its own or cooperate with other political parties. He did not specify which parties he had in mind, noting that his party remains part of Perikatan Nasional (PN) but contested the Negeri Sembilan election under its own logo, losing all 22 seats.

Faizal also expressed concern that PN is "increasingly forgetting about us," but emphasized that Bersatu values its relationships and does not forget others. Regarding whether Bersatu would use its own logo in the Melaka election, Faizal stated that the party leadership had not yet made a decision. He mentioned that the party is still assessing its strength in all constituencies and that the decision would be made later.

Meanwhile, Melaka Bersatu information chief Hishamuddin Abdul Karim indicated that the state chapter is ready to engage in talks with parties that share common ground, particularly Pakatan Harapan, to explore a potential understanding ahead of the state election. He emphasized that all options should be studied rationally and with an open mind for the party's survival and future.
