11 Malaysians unreachable after floods in Nepal: Wisma Putra [WATCH]

Malaysia's embassy in Nepal has confirmed that 11 Malaysian citizens are missing after severe flooding in the Rasuwa district. The loss of contact with these individuals is attributed to the disruption of communication networks and power supply caused by the disaster. Wisma Putra, the Malaysian Embassy, is working closely with Nepalese authorities and search and rescue teams to locate the missing Malaysians and ensure their safety.

Travelers to Nepal, especially those near the affected areas, have been advised to remain vigilant and follow safety instructions issued by local authorities. Malaysians are also urged to update their contact details on the e-Konsular portal for easier communication with the embassy. In case of emergency, Malaysians can reach out to the Malaysian Embassy in Kathmandu through various phone numbers or email.

As of now, eight bodies have been found, with ongoing rescue operations in progress. The flooding, caused by the Bhote Koshi River overflowing, has resulted in significant damage to various areas, including market, residential, and infrastructure.
