VeryDarkMan highlights insecurity concerns, attacks on judiciary at NBA conference

VeryDarkMan, the popular Nigerian social media influencer, has spoken out about his invitation to the 2026 Annual General Conference of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA). During his appearance as a panelist in Port Harcourt, he addressed concerns over his selection and shared his insights on insecurity issues across the country. VeryDarkMan emphasized that he was not there to lecture law professionals, but to share his firsthand experience dealing with security challenges.

He revealed that his invitation was a result of his extensive reporting on security incidents, including a kidnapping of a judge travelling from Sokoto State, which occurred on July 26, 2025. The suspect was reportedly held captive for a week before being released in Kebbi. VeryDarkMan criticized media organizations for their lack of coverage on such killings perpetrated by unknown gunmen.

Discussing a recent atrocity in Benue State, VeryDarkMan noted that he was the first responder to the June 13, 2025, attack on Yelwata, where over 200 people were killed, and properties worth millions of naira were destroyed. He claimed that the Fulani people were responsible, citing retaliation following the killing of a Fulani boy. A prosecution witness in the case testified that disgruntled Fulani chiefs sponsored an attack involving over 200 armed men with AK-47 rifles.
