UAE leaders celebrate legacy of Prophet Mohammed (PBUH)

On August 25, 2026, the United Arab Emirates' leaders took to social media to commemorate the birthday of Prophet Mohammed (PBUH). The Prophet's birthday is observed on the 12th day of Rabi Al Awwal, which fell on Tuesday, August 25, this year. As a result, UAE will be granted a public holiday on August 28, allowing citizens to celebrate over a long weekend.

UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan shared his reflections on the Prophet's legacy on X, formerly known as Twitter. He highlighted the qualities of mercy, compassion, and tolerance that the Prophet left behind, which raised goodness to a noble and enduring purpose. He also expressed hope that the nation, its people, and the world remain protected, and blessed with peace and security.

Another prominent UAE leader, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan echoed the same sentiments. He reiterating the importance of reflecting on the Prophet's legacy and hoping for a future where the nation and its people continue to be protected, and the region and the world experience lasting peace and security.

In a separate message, HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, also took to X to commemorate the occasion. He wished the Islamic nation and its people a blessed day, and prayed for the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) to be returned to the Islamic nation, which he described as being in a state of goodness, safety, and security.
