Anwar reflects on Prophet’s leadership, promises change and justice for Malaysia in Maulidur Rasul message

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 25 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, speaking in a Facebook post today in commemoration of Maulidur Rasul, emphasized his commitment to bringing about change and reform, drawing inspiration from Prophet Muhammad SAW's establishment of a new administration 14 centuries ago in the Arab region. Recognizing the complexities of a pluralistic nation in Southeast Asia during the 21st century, Anwar vowed to continue his efforts for Malaysia.

He highlighted the importance of guaranteeing basic needs and ensuring tangible peace, which he considers prerequisites for fulfilling the essential aims of Maqasid Shariah, as articulated by Muhammad Imarah. Anwar, also serving as Minister of Finance, stressed his dedication to serving all citizens and expressed hope that Allah SWT would continue to bless Malaysia with love and sustenance.

He shared the history of Prophet Muhammad SAW's struggles in establishing a new administration in the Arab region, noting how the transformation of personalities and minds through Shariah principles led to stability and unity among diverse groups. Quoting Surah Quraysh, Anwar concluded, "He who feeds them against hunger and secures them from fear."
