Anwar draws on Prophet’s legacy as he vows to drive Malaysia’s reform agenda

Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has vowed to continue Malaysia's reform agenda, drawing inspiration from the leadership of Prophet Muhammad SAW. In a Facebook post on Maulidur Rasul, the Prime Minister highlighted the relevance of the Prophet's struggle to establish a new administration in the Arabian region over 14 centuries ago to today's pursuit of justice, social stability, economic fairness, and national unity.

Anwar recalled the Prophets teachings and the challenges he faced, drawing parallels to the complexities of building a multiracial society in 21st-century Southeast Asia. He emphasized the importance of unity, as demonstrated by the resolution of conflict between the Aus and Khazraj tribes in Yathrib, which ultimately led to a society of wisdom and high moral character.

The Prime Minister stressed the need to ensure basic needs and genuine security, citing the guidance of the Quran in safeguarding the daruriyat (Protection of life) in Maqasid Syariah. He also highlighted the Prophet's strategies in promoting peace, justice, and prosperity within a diverse society, despite the political complexities faced today.

Anwar reiterated his commitment to bringing about change and islah (reformation) as long as he has the strength and opportunity to do so, for the benefit of all Malaysians.
