Tinubu flags off reconstruction of Ibadan–Ijebu-Ode Road, approves Abeokuta–Ibadan dualisation

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu inaugurated the reconstruction and dualization of a 58-kilometer stretch of the Ibadan–Ijebu-Ode Road, connecting Oyo and Ogun states. The President emphasized that these projects are part of the Federal Government's strategy to enhance transportation networks, stimulate economic integration, and tackle infrastructure gaps in the South-West.

Speaking at the ceremony in Ibadan, Tinubu, represented by Ogun State Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun, highlighted the project's significance as a vital economic artery linking Ibadan, Ijebu-Ode, and the Lekki economic axis. The President pledged that the renewed Hope Agenda would move beyond rhetoric into actionable outcomes, improving mobility, commerce, and employment opportunities.

The Ibadan–Ijebu-Ode project involves constructing a 58-kilometer dual carriageway with continuous reinforced concrete pavement, with completion expected within 24 months. Tinubu urged local communities to cooperate with federal agencies and contractors to ensure the project's timely execution, warning against any actions that could hinder progress.
