Thunderstorms, hail forecast across Saudi Arabia as temperatures climb to 46°C

Jeddah is bracing for a day of thunderstorms, hail, and strong winds on Tuesday, with temperatures set to soar up to 46°C in certain areas, according to the National Center for Meteorology (NCM). The NCM predicts moderate to heavy thundery rain, accompanied by hail and strong gusts, will persist over parts of Jazan, Asir, and Al-Baha, spreading to the highlands of Makkah and Madinah regions.

Temperatures are expected to remain elevated across the Eastern Province, while dust-laden winds are forecasted in several central and southern regions, along with some areas in Najran. In Riyadh, expect partly cloudy skies with intermittent dust particles. Meanwhile, Makkah and Madinah are anticipated to face rain-laden thunderclouds, gusty winds, and blowing dust.

Jeddah will see partly cloudy conditions, with gusty winds and suspended dust. Dammam may encounter suspended dust. Abha is expected to experience thundery rain and gusty winds, while Tabuk is forecast to face gusty winds. Buraidah is predicted to be clear to partly cloudy, and Hail to be partly cloudy.

Al-Baha will see thundery rain and gusty winds, while Arar and Sakaka are expected to be partly cloudy. Jazan will witness thundery rain, gusty winds, and blowing dust, and Najran will experience rain-laden thunderclouds, gusty winds, and blowing dust. Temperatures will peak at 44°C in Riyadh, 42°C in Makkah, 45°C in Madinah, and 46°C in Dammam. Abroad, Abha will see highs of 31°C, Tabuk 41°C, Buraidah 45°C, Hail 41°C, Al-Baha 31°C, Arar 43°C, Sakaka 44°C, Jazan 38°C, and Najran 39°C.
