The Witcher 3 Remastered Launches September, Free Upgrade For All Owners

CD Projekt Red announced The Witcher 3 Remastered, a free upgrade for all owners, will launch on September 29. The remastered version features enhanced visuals, including improved combat, traversal and movement, mount handling, monster behaviors, a revamped skill tree, expanded photo mode, new finishers, and more. Additional additions include cross-platform mod support, new quest tracking, immersive meditation, UI improvements, a reworked loot system, refreshed motion blur, accessibility features, a modernized tutorial, HDR improvements, foliage shading rework, ray-tracing enhancements, global lighting revamp, a new shading model, subsurface scattering, and a new tone mapper.

PlayStation 5 Pro, Xbox Play Anywhere, and Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive features are also mentioned. The remastered version will include The Witcher 3's first two expansions, preceding the upcoming Songs of the Past expansion, which will add more Gwent to the franchise's popular card game. There were no signs of The Witcher 4, but CD Projekt Red's joint CEO, Michał Nowakowski, revealed that the highly-anticipated Ciri-starring sequel is targeting a 2028 release window, and the game is still in development.

The Witcher 4 boasts a massive and immersive open world, intense gameplay, and a deep story that the team hopes will resonate with players for years to come.
