Sifuna to Ruto: You also rode on slogans to become president

Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna has responded to President William Ruto's criticism of the opposition for lacking a clear agenda and using political slogans. Speaking to potential candidates in Nairobi, Sifuna pointed out that Ruto himself used the "Hustler versus Dynasty" slogan to rise to power. Sifuna reminded Ruto that the political bar had not been raised by anyone else, as he too relied on slogans to gain support.

The opposition plans to use similar slogans like "Ruto Must Go" to challenge the president in the 2027 election. Sifuna believes Kenyans understand the agenda of the Linda Mwananchi movement and the United Opposition beyond just slogans. However, Jubilee Deputy Party Leader Jeremiah Kioni cautioned that slogans alone are not enough, arguing the opposition must complement them with a clear plan of action.
