Paul Afoko files nomination, pledges to return NPP to power in 2028

Paul Awentami Afoko, the former National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has submitted his nomination to compete in the party's forthcoming National Officers Elections. His primary goal is to secure the position of National Chairman once again, with a focus on ensuring victory in the 2028 general elections. Mr Afoko submitted his nomination forms to the party's Elections Committee as part of the required procedures before the October elections.

Upon filing his nomination, he addressed the growing frustration and anger within the NPP, expressing confidence that his leadership could restore hope and strengthen the party. His campaign strategy centers on reaching out to delegates with a clear message, while maintaining a dignified approach throughout the process. He also emphasized the importance of unity and a robust party structure as the NPP prepares for the 2028 general elections, viewing it as a crucial objective of his bid for the National Chairman position.

Meanwhile, Frederick Opare Ansah, the Chairman of the NPP Elections Committee, assured candidates of a fair and transparent electoral process. He pledged that the committee would provide a level playing field for all aspirants and would remain impartial, resisting any attempts to influence the process in favor of or against any candidate.
