One of WA's top realtors disqualified from awards over sales inaccuracies

The Real Estate Institute of Western Australia (REIWA) has disqualified a top-performing real estate agent from this year's industry awards due to inaccuracies in the sales data he submitted. Roy Li, whose legal name is Liang Li, was previously ranked among the top one percent of agents in Western Australia based on his sales volume and property values.

However, discrepancies in his reported sales data have led to his disqualification for the current year's awards. These inaccuracies included inconsistencies in the sale prices of at least one-third of the properties he listed with REIWA, as well as the inclusion of sales for properties he or his company owned, inflating his sales figures.

Li has denied the allegations, claiming he disclosed his interest to the sellers. The Consumer Protection agency has also issued a warning to Ideal Realty, Li's company, over a sale that allegedly violated conflict of interest laws. REIWA is considering an audit of Li's sales data for previous years. This case highlights the importance of accurate data in the real estate industry and the potential consequences of discrepancies in sales records.
