MyKad printing services nationwide to face temporary disruption from tomorrow to Aug 31

PUTRAJAYA, Aug 25 — The printing of MyKad nationwide is set to face a temporary disruption from Aug 26 until Aug 31 due to the ongoing transition to the new generation MyKad. The National Registration Department (JPN) is currently implementing the shift from the current MyKad structure to the upgraded version. The public, unless urgently required, is advised to defer replacing or exchanging their MyKad during this period.

"For children applying for their first MyKad at 12 years old, parents and guardians are encouraged to wait for a while to allow their children to receive the new generation MyKad as production commences soon," JPN stated in a recent announcement. The department expressed gratitude for the public's understanding and cooperation throughout the transition process and apologized for any inconvenience caused.
